Unioil Petroleum Philippines Incorporated (UPPI) on Wednesday set another benchmark in local pump prices by implementing its’ another “big-time” rollback since last month beating other competitors to the draw as it announced a bigger cutback in diesel and gasoline prices.

UPPI General Manager Chito Medina-Cue Jr. said that aside from their P4 per liter price reduction in diesel (Pure Diesel Plus B1), they would also slash the prices of their Quantum Premium Gasoline and Unleaded Gasoline by P6 per liter effective at 2pm today.

With the latest price adjustments, Unioil’s diesel product now stands at P34.97 per liter for its Pure Diesel Plus B1, which is lower by P1 to P2 compared with other pump prices of competitors.

Furthermore, Unleaded gasoline now stands at P38.49 per liter, Quantum Premium Gasoline is at P38.99 per liter and P36.21 per liter for Regular Gasoline.

“We are now lower by P1 to P2.70 per liter in our gasoline and diesel products compared with other players”, Medina-Cue reiterated.

Unioil last rolled back its pump prices by P6 per liter in Diesel while P2.50 per liter in gasoline last October 30. Prior to that, it also implemented a twice “big-time” rollback of P3 per liter for diesel and P2 for gasoline in September.

Medina-Cue said the price rollback was due to the continued decline in crude prices in the international market and Unioil’s commitment to sell to the public petroleum products at affordable prices.

He likewise said that it is also part of the company’s mission and vision.

“This is the second biggest price rollback for this year and Unioil will continue this commitment to the public to have a fair and competitive pricing,” Medina-Cue said.

“It’s hard for us to speculate but we are clearly paying close attention to movements in the international market. What Unioil can assure the public is that we will continue selling high quality products at fair prices,” the Unioil official added.

The company, one of the country’s leading independent oil player has 40 service stations and retail outlets in mainland Luzon alone. It is in the midst of a P90 million-expansion program that would see the construction of additional outlets in Makati, Pasay, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Manila and Quezon city.
